Coming to Camden New Jersey
Saturday, January 24, 2004
Additional businesses and initiatives announced Friday at "Invest in Camden
Day" include:
Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Starbucks coffee at RC Bistro are slated to open
on the ground floor of the Victor Building, formerly RCA's Nipper Building, in
mid-February.
 | Subway will open at the same time next to RC Bistro. The two restaurants
and a new dry cleaner cover only 20 percent of its retail space, so there is
room to grow.
 | Twenty Horse Tavern, on Second Street, near South Jersey Port Corp.,
(formerly Paige's) is slated to open by the end of the year with the help of
$100,000 from the Economic Development Authority and $200,000 from PNC Bank.
 | Cooper University Hospital expects to invest $100 million in new
construction in the city, adjacent to its footprint on Haddon Avenue and
Mickle Boulevard.
 | Creation of a private venture capital fund, called the New Jersey Early
State Partnership, was announced by the Rutgers Center for Management and
Entrepreneurship, which has $25 million to $40 million to spend in Camden.
 | Affordable to market-value housing in East and South Camden, and $500
million in state funds for new schools. |
